God Showed Me The Way

October 29, 2018

Welcome to my Monday Blog, my Friends!

Today I’m sharing a post from October, 2015 and hope it brings some insight and even Joy…we all have our problems, don’t we, my dears? The best advice I can give anyone is NEVER EVER NEVER GIVE UP…and of course, ALWAYS PRAY FOR A MIRACLE!!

So, a couple of weeks ago, I had an incredible evening in Atlanta, where I was the guest author of a large book club…the entire evening (7p-11p) was laced with pure Joy…there was a feeling of love floating in the air, and an obvious  look of peace and tranquility in everyone. We discussed my book, we laughed, we cried and we even shared a fabulous Italian dinner, compliments of the one and only “Ippolitos Italian Restaurant” (if you’ve read my book, you know all about Ippolitos!!).  Anyway, I also speak a lot about angels in my book and trust me, there were several angels there with us that night! I’ve had many book signings over the past few years, sharing my story of how Jesus changes everything and He has brought me such Joy at all of them…this one, however, I feel will become overwhelmingly historic and I’m so grateful!!

It’s amazing what God can do in our lives if we just sit back and feel His awesome Spirit working inside us!! I was truly so blessed to be a part of such an uplifting and curious group of readers that evening!

The question below is the ONE question I get at every single book signing event I attend and…it was also a question from a reader way back on October 25, 2015:

“I’d like to share a comment from “About the Author,” found on my website https://authormargaretmcbride.wordpress.com/, with you today…”

“Margaret,
How did you find the courage to re-live such a devastating account of troubling memories of a childhood surrounded by fear and sadness within your own family? I envy your perseverance and ability to forgive the outrageous acts of cruelty that you and your siblings were forced to endure at the hands of your father.” ❤️

My reply:

“Hi dear Friend,
Ya know, that one question seems to come up more than any other when I’m discussing my book and I realize that until I started writing about my past, I had pretty much hidden it away — so far away in fact that I truly wasn’t consciously aware that I had been suffering my past my whole life. That, of course is why I referred to myself in the book as the “great pretender”. As I got deeper and deeper into the past, my heart and mind became friends and began to work together in the process of healing me. The more I wrote, the more I cried; the more I cried, the more I prayed for God’s mercy, guidance and spiritual healing. By the time I finished the book which took four years, all my prayers had been answered and I was able to come out of the dark and face it all once and for all. I was well aware that all this suffering was based on one fact: I had been so mad at my father my entire life that I had become emotionally, spiritually and even physically drained.
So, your question was, “How did you find the courage to relive all those devastating memories?”

My answer: “GOD SHOWED ME THE WAY – all the way to the very last word on the very last page of my book. It’s truly amazing too, that as painful as it was, I felt His presence and never once doubted for a minute that He was in charge of this project. I just put down one word at a time…word, after word, after word.”

My prayer for us all this week is… “Never cease praying and never give up on God because…God is Good. God is Great!! Always!!!

Bless you, my dears.

I love you,

❤️Margaret

October 22, 2018

Happy Monday and welcome to my Monday Blog my Dears!! I hope your weekend was one of Joy and Peace. Ya know, it seems more difficult than ever to experience such feelings these days…if we think about the unrest all around God’s World. Why is it so difficult for some to just live and love?

It seems so simple, but as the world exists today, this appears to be impossible; however, I know nothing’s impossible for God...NOTHING!! I also believe that God keeps time as He sees fit, and we only have to trust in Him to show us the right road to take while we’re here on His Earth. We have only to believe in Him, trust in Him and have Faith in Him to work His miracles.

We’re truly a mixed brew of God’s children here…and as children do, we don’t always follow our Father’s “House Rules”. Fortunately for us, our Father will forgive us – if only we ask Him and hold that dear in our hearts, so as not to ignore God’s Word, but rather to live each day honoring His Word. We’re all sinners…period…but that’s not to say we can’t get up every single day and put God first in all we do, so as to show him our respect, love and faith and that we do indeed honor His Word by living the best life we can in His Holy name. Amen!

My prayer for all of us this week is that we will make a serious effort to show God , by our actions and words, how much we love Him and honor Him. This will be evident as we focus on ONE thing this week:

LOVE ONE ANOTHER –

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another as I have loved you, that you also love one another.”  – John 13:34

“No man hath beheld God at any time: if we love one another, God abideth in  us, and his love is perfected in us.” – 1 John 4:12

GOD is Good! GOD is Great!! Always!!!

I love you,

Margaret

How’s Your Heart?

blog you can't dump that garbage

October, 15, 2018

Hello, my Friends and welcome to my Monday Blog! First, here’s a big THANK YOU for sharing your time with me here each week! I’m so grateful to you all and today I have a special hello to all you new-comers: Uganda, Norway, Palestinian Territories, Croatia, Uzbekistan, Colombia, Algeria, Qatar, Morocco – Welcome, dear hearts!!

My Blog is simply a tool for me to share my heartfelt feelings about my relationship with God and the incredible power of forgiveness. I may not know you personally, but I love you just as if I did.

Along the way, I’ll share a few stories here and there, about just how good Life can truly be when we walk on certain paths. One of those paths and certainly the most important path is the Path of Righteousness:

“You will make known to me the path of life; In your prescience is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.” -Psalm 16:11

“I have directed you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in upright paths.”     – Proverbs 4:11

“So you will walk in the way of good men and keep to the paths of the righteous.” – Proverbs 2:20

“You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of gladness with your presence.” – Acts 2:28

“Make me know Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths.” – Psalm 25-4

“Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, for I delight in it.               – Psalm 119:35

“And many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; that He may teach us concerning His ways and that we may walk in His paths.”  – Isaiah 2:3

I refer to the Path of Righteousness as the High Road and when we start out each day on the High Road, we can’s miss the Path of Righteousness!!

With Life, fear, doubt and sin are always hanging around…we have to be focused on God and diligent in guarding our hearts from all the misery and temptation Satan is constantly throwing at us! This is serious. WE, alone, are responsible for our actions. Satan may certainly be behind our missing the path of righteousness, but WE will take the heat for our bad decisions, not Satan…trust me.

“Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the well-spring of Life.” – Pro. 4:23

This week my prayer for us all is that we will seek the Path of Righteousness at every step we take and that we will guard our hearts with all our being – remembering that Satan has very persuasive powers and is the Liar in Chief here on God’s Earth. Don’t fall for his tricks. Ask God to help you GUARD YOUR HEART!!

God Is Good! God is Great!! always!!!

I love you,

Margaret

Too Young To Be 70, I mean 71!!

blog Gods timing

Monday, October 8, 2018

Welcome to my Monday Blog my friends! Thank you for sharing your time with me and I appreciate each and every one of you! I’ve been traveling for a few weeks now and as always, it’s good to be home! I actually turned 71 on this recent trip and I admit it seems like yesterday that I was turning 70!! Holy Moly, Batman, I’m too young for this…

*”I’m Too Young to Be Seventy…

Deep in my heart I believe I’m too young to be seventy. There are times when I’m wearing my baseball cap and my jeans that I even can imagine that, glimpsed from the rear, I might be mistaken for someone who could still be in her teens. Or maybe the mother of teens. Late thirties? Earlie forties? Middle fifties? I think I could do the middle fifties just fine, like that actress who, when asked how she could be fifty-four when her son was forty-eight, replied, ‘My son lives his life and I live mine.’

In the life that I’m living I’m too young to be seventy. The woman I see in the mirror is not the real me. When I elevate my chin, when I suck my stomach in, when I throw my shoulders back, when I tighten all that’s slack, I can’t be any more than sixty-one. And a half? Sixty-two? Okay, sixty-three.

As long as we can agree I’m too young to be seventy. Too young in my heart and my soul, if not in my thighs. Too Hopeful. Too eager. Too playful. Too restless. Too insufficiently wise. Too young. Did I mention too young?  Too young to be seventy?”

**********************************************************

When we actually ponder the longevity part of living our gift of Life, we’re made to be more conscious of our lives…how we live, where we live, what we do, who we do it with, and always, WHY As a Christian, the last one there, the “why”, has always been the easiest one for me…well, since I was eleven. My answer to the why is simple: “Because He told me so”…now I’m not saying I don’t have difficulty sometimes, with the Lord having His way…but thank Him, I’ve learned to be more patient, listen longer, get on my knees more and pray without ceasing, and let’s not forget…I’m seventy+!!

No matter how old or smart we are, we must trust that God’s timing is all that maters here on His earth. We control zip! Aw, we think we’re in control, but no matter how hard and smart we work, how much we think “we got this”, our plans may not be what God has in store for us. His timing and our timing don’t match perfectly. When the best laid plans don’t materialize as we think they should have, that’s precisely when God is showing us He has a better plan…and that’s when we need to step back and seek God’s will and trust His timing. We’re all quite capable of wanting something so much that we can’t imagine any other option. That’s when our faith comes in…that’s when we show our Heavenly Father we love Him and trust His wisdom, not ours. As the old hymnal goes…there’s Victory in Jesus! Amen.

My prayer for us all this week is that we’ll pray for God’s wisdom and patience. Actually, let’s ALL pray not just for ourselves, but for each other in this prayer. What a Blessing!! Amen.

GOD is Good! GOD is Great!! Always!!!

I love you,

Margaret
