Happy Memorial Day, my friends!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

In America, today is the day we honor our fallen heroes. Today’s Blog is dedicated to all our  heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the incredible freedoms we enjoy. May we never become so busy, self-righteous or complacent that we forget our heroes and how they, alone, fought and still fight our battles for us!

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”  – John 15:16

*The Battle Hymn of the Republic:

“Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the lord; he is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored; he hath loosed the fateful lightning of his terrible swift sword; his truth is marching on. Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah, his truth is marching on! His truth is marching on.

I have seen him in the watchfires of a hundred circling camps, they have builded him an altar in the evening dews and damps; I can read his righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps; his day is marching on.

He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat; he is sifting out the hearts of men before his judgment seat; O be swift, my soul, to answer him; be jubilant, my feet! Our God is marching on.

In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea, with a glory in his bosom that transfigures you and me; as he died to make men holy, let us die to make men free, while God is marching on.

He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave, he is wisdom to the mighty, he is honor to the brave; so the world shall be his footstool, and the soul of wrong his slave. Our God is marching on.

Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! His truth is marching on.”

It’s been a year now, probably, since I’ve read these almost unbelievably timeless lyrics…read them once again. I had chills, you probably will as well – I hope you do.

What we, as Americans must never do, is to take our precious freedoms for granted! The past, present and future sacrifices which are ultimately made for these, our freedoms, is one sacrifice that we, heaven forbid, will ever have to make!

As we go forward from this most important day in our history, and as we continue to enjoy our awesome freedoms, from this day forward, at every opportunity to honor our magnificent American Flag and what she stands for, let us stand, place our hand over our hearts and pledge our allegiance to Her and our beloved United States of America. Amen!!

“Freedom prospers when religion is vibrant and the rule of law under God is acknowledged.          – Ronald Reagan, US President

Happy Memorial Day, my dear fellow Americans!! Let us honor and defend our beloved and extraordinary country at every opportunity we have!

GOD is Good! GOD is Great!! Always!!!

I love you,

Margaret

MOTHERS

Monday, May 14, 2018

Welcome to my Monday Blog, dear friends! You’re all so appreciated and I’m so grateful for each one of you! You’re such a blessing to me in so many ways and I thank You…for YOU!!

Today, the first day after Mother’s Day, I’m just considering what we do between now and next Mother’s Day. In my case, my dear Mother went to heaven in 1997; however, I know without a doubt that she’s with me in spirit every single day. There are times when I can feel her presence…matter of fact, I could share with you some experiences I’ve had over these past twenty years, since she left here, but some of you may not believe me.  That’s OK too, because some things are meant just for the receiver. I believe this is how our heavenly Father works in our lives… when we let Him. You know, He doesn’t force anything on us. He has given us all the gift of choice…in everything.

I choose to believe my Mother is one of my heavenly guardian angels and still to this day, watches over me and mine. Many of you have read my book and know how much I love and admire my Mother and why God in His infinite wisdom, has no doubt, continued to bless me with my Mother, to guide me on her path to righteousness, even though she no longer “walks” this Earth with me, figuratively speaking. Yes, I’m blessed and I know it!

What does God say about Christian mothers?

*” Being a mother is a very important role that the lord chooses to give to many women. A Christian  mother is told to love her children (Titus 2;4-5), in part so that she does not bring reproach on the Lord and on the Savior whose name she bears.”

Children are a gift from the Lord (Psalm 127:3-5). In Titus 2:4, the Greek word philoteknos appears in reference to mothers loving their children. This word represents a special kind of “mother love.” The idea that flows out of this word is that of caring for our children, nurturing them, meeting their needs, and tenderly befriending each one as a unique gift from the hand of God.

Several things are commanded of Christian mothers in God’s word:

Availability – morning noon, and night  – Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Involvement – interacting, discussing, thinking, and processing life together: Ephesians 6:4

Teaching – the Scripture and biblical worldview – Psalm 78:56, Deut. 4:10, Eph. 6:4

Training – helping a child to develop skills and discover his/her strengths: Prov. 22;6, and spiritual gifts – Romans 12:3-8, 1 Corin. 12

Discipline – teaching the fear of the Lord, drawing the line consistently, loving, firmly:  Ephs. 6:4, Hebrews, 12:5-11; Prov. 13:24, 19:18, 22:15, 23:13-14, 29:15-17

Nurture – providing an environment of constant verbal support, freedom to fail, acceptance, affection, unconditional love: Titus 2:4, 2 Timothy 1:7, Ephs. 4:29-32, 5:1-2, Galatians 5:22,   1Peter 3:8-9

Modeling with Integrity – living what you say, being a model from which a child can learn by “catching” the essence of godly living : Deut. 4:0, 15,23: Prov. 10:9, 11:3, Psalm 37:18, 37

The Bible never states that every woman should be a mother. However, it does say that those whom the Lord blesses to be mothers should take the responsibility seriously. Mothers have a unique and serious role in the lives of their children. Motherhood is not a chore or unpleasant task. Just as a mother bears a child during pregnancy, and just as a mother feeds and cares for a child during infancy, so mothers also play an ongoing role in the lives of their children, whether they are adolescents, teenagers, young adults, or even adults with children of their own. While  the role of motherhood must change and develop, the love, care, nurture and encouragement a mother gives should never cease.”

**********

A Mother’s job is quite clear and it’s obvious that a Mother’s work is never done! My dear Mother has been gone from here for twenty years now, however, she’s still loving me and teaching me every single day that I wake up. I love her so much!

“Honor thy Father and your Mother, that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord, they God is giving you.” – the Fifth Commandment –  Exodus 20:12

The role of a Mother is probably the most important career a woman can ever have.

It’s my humble opinion that while we celebrate Mother’s Day only one day of each year, there are 364 more days in the year that we have an opportunity to show  our love, appreciation and adoration for our dear Mothers.

I tell my Mother daily how much I love her and miss her being here…if only I could put my arms around her sweetness and hold her close to me, once again – oh, how wonderful that would be! Since I can’t do that, I pray and talk to her and thank her for all she did and still does with the unconditional love she bestowed upon me while she was here.

My prayer for us all this week is that whether your Mother is still here with you or gone on, please love and honor her as the Bible tells us. If you’re fortunate to still have your Mother here with you, then consider what else you might do to show her how much you honor and love her…every  day of the year! Amen.

GOD is Good! GOD is Great!! Always!!!

I love you,

Margaret
