Happy Memorial Day, my friends!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
In America, today is the day we honor our fallen heroes. Today’s Blog is dedicated to all our heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the incredible freedoms we enjoy. May we never become so busy, self-righteous or complacent that we forget our heroes and how they, alone, fought and still fight our battles for us!
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” – John 15:16
*The Battle Hymn of the Republic:
“Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the lord; he is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored; he hath loosed the fateful lightning of his terrible swift sword; his truth is marching on. Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah, his truth is marching on! His truth is marching on.
I have seen him in the watchfires of a hundred circling camps, they have builded him an altar in the evening dews and damps; I can read his righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps; his day is marching on.
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat; he is sifting out the hearts of men before his judgment seat; O be swift, my soul, to answer him; be jubilant, my feet! Our God is marching on.
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea, with a glory in his bosom that transfigures you and me; as he died to make men holy, let us die to make men free, while God is marching on.
He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave, he is wisdom to the mighty, he is honor to the brave; so the world shall be his footstool, and the soul of wrong his slave. Our God is marching on.
Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! His truth is marching on.”
It’s been a year now, probably, since I’ve read these almost unbelievably timeless lyrics…read them once again. I had chills, you probably will as well – I hope you do.
What we, as Americans must never do, is to take our precious freedoms for granted! The past, present and future sacrifices which are ultimately made for these, our freedoms, is one sacrifice that we, heaven forbid, will ever have to make!
As we go forward from this most important day in our history, and as we continue to enjoy our awesome freedoms, from this day forward, at every opportunity to honor our magnificent American Flag and what she stands for, let us stand, place our hand over our hearts and pledge our allegiance to Her and our beloved United States of America. Amen!!
“Freedom prospers when religion is vibrant and the rule of law under God is acknowledged. – Ronald Reagan, US President
Happy Memorial Day, my dear fellow Americans!! Let us honor and defend our beloved and extraordinary country at every opportunity we have!
GOD is Good! GOD is Great!! Always!!!
I love you,
Margaret
