What’s Your Problem?

Monday, August 12, 2019

Welcome to my Monday Blog, dear Friends! I appreciate each and every one of you – YOU are the reason I sit here on Monday’s, causing me to consciously reflect on yesterday, today and tomorrow. Thank you!

Today’s image represents us all, doesn’t it? Life is a challenge at best. It just IS! The thing is though, is that we must always remember that Life is our most precious gift. The Gift of Life, given to us, whether we deserve it or not, is a gift like no other. And, by the way, how often do we go to the Lord with a big “Thank You” ? Once a day, once a week, once a month? I’ll stop. Regardless of the answer, I’ll ask us all this: Are we just too busy asking God to come to our rescue, and save us from this or that big problem? Probably.

What if we focused on all the big problems God has already worked out for us? All the prayers He’s already answered for us? All the unsolvable situations He has shown up for and solved for us? Our problems are not with God, rather our biggest problem lies in our own hearts and minds. It’s called a lack of faith…in our BIG God! Our big problems are tiny when you compare them to the power of our BIG God! Think about it, embrace it and walk this faith in Him, our BIG God!

My prayer for us all this week, is that we will all be mindful of the Power of our BIG God and what we must do to deserve His gifts to us? It’s very simple…our humankind relationship with God…it consists of FAITH, HOPE and LOVE. May we all hold this in our hearts going forward this week, being mindful that if we want help with our big problems, we must be deserving of that help from our BIG GOD! Amen.

“And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” – 1 Corinthians 13:13

GOD is Good! GOD is Great!! Always!!!

I love you,

Margaret

The Ten Commandments and Politics

Monday August 5, 2019

Welcome to my Monday blog, my friends, and thank you for sharing your time with me today…especially today! You know I usually stay away from the political arena as I’ve learned  I am more blessed when sharing my religious views.  Frankly though, I believe my main purpose here on God’s earth is to share His only begotten Son’s everlasting love for all who walk His earth. With that said, I’m going to break my own rule by sharing an article I found over the weekend which one may feel has a political tone to it; however, it is indeed related to my faith and God’s Holy Word:

***

Socialism Violates All Ten Commandments  – by Robert Knight

“With a couple dozen Democrat presidential hopefuls vying to see who’s pinker, perhaps it’s time to contrast socialism with something more helpful and permanent: The Ten Commandments.

Socialism teaches that wealth should be held in common owner ship, controlled by the state. Hence, the Democrats’ constant push to have government confiscate ever more income and power.

By contrast, the Bible teaches that God owns all things and that we’re merely stewards of His creation. When we look at each of the Ten Commandments, we see that they’re directly at odds with socialism:

You shall have no other gods before Me.

Socialism and it’s offshoots – Communism, fascism, democratic socialism and National Socialism (Nazism)  – enshrine the state above all other powers. There is no room for God, which is why socialists are in a permanent war with the church and are bent on creating a faith-free society.

You shall make no idols.

Idols are anything that takes the place of God in the hierarchy of values. Under socialism, sheer power over one’s fellow man is an idol. Another is building utopias – the unicorns of government because such perfect societies do not exist.

You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.

When socialists take over a culture, it becomes depraved and perverse. To enforce their new immoral order, socialists openly blaspheme God and particularly Jesus Chris. Hollywood, which is famously leftist, has taken the road since Christian review boards abandoned their role in the 1960s, opening up films to any and all ways to shock audiences.

Keep the Sabbath day holy.

Sundays are no different from any other day in socialist societies. In fact, people going to church on a Sunday are identified and often persecuted in places like communist China, where atheism is the official state religion. Even in our market-based society, materialism – a necessary precept of socialism – has pushed respect for the Sabbath to the margins.

Honor your father and mother.

Socialism has been at war with marriage and family since the French Revolution in 1780. Unlike America’s revolutionaries of 1776, the Jacobins sought to wipe out Christianity and establish an all-encompassing government that supplanted the family. Fredrich Engels, co-author with Karl Marx of “The Communist Manifesto,” later wrote about the need to do away with marital fidelity and to assign children to communal rearing. He, Marx and other socialists correctly identified the family as a competing source of authority and bulwark of the church. Both stand in the way of collectivist regimes.

You shall not murder.

Many people misread this commandment as a broader order not to kill for any reason, which denies the moral difference between taking innocent human life and executing murders. Socialists have long promoted abortion – the direct taking of an innocent human life – as a way to “liberate” women and men from parental responsibilities.

You shall not commit adultery.

In the 1960s, Americans became familiar with the term “free love”, but socialists have been promoting it heavily since the early 1800s. Sex outside marriage, prostitution, pornography and abortion all militate against marriage fidelity. Socialists deploy euphemisms like “choice ” and “sex work” to cover the retreat from Biblical morality.”

You shall not steal.

Socialism is a grand theft. It uses the state to take earnings from productive people and redistribute it to create dependency and thus political power for those handing it out. Slavery is 100 percent taxation – when someone else controls the fruits of one’s labor. Socialist countries first control and then seize private property. Mark summed up “The Communist Manifesto” in one sentence: “Abolition of private property.”

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

This is not just about telling lies in a witness situation but also about using lies to advance one’s well being. Socialism is built on a mountain of lies about human nature, which is why it eventually must resort to violence. Marx wrote that “the ends justify the means,” which means you can do or say anything as long as it advances the revolution.

You shall not covet.

Socialism’s main engine is envy, stoking resentment against others who have more, even to the point of using violence to get it. In Genesis, Cain killed Abel out of envy for Abel achieving God’s favor. Envy was also on display when Satan promised Adam and Eve that if they defied God, then “ye shall be as Gods.”  Coveting divinity got Satan kicked out of Heaven, and it’s what he and his minions continue to peddle in a variety of forms – including pride, envy and socialism.

Of Satan, Jesus said, “When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”

God originated life, natural marriage and love and gave us The Ten Commandments. It shouldn’t be a mystery as to where the deceptive cake of socialism was baked.”

                                                                                 ********

I just found this article so very interesting and also quite telling. As a Christian, devout Jesus-lover and follower, I love everyone – everyone – the good, the bad, the ugly-in-heart; the saved, the unsaved, the Democrats, Republicans, Independents; however, I don’t agree with everyone and I’m certain you don’t either! With that said, I hope you’ll receive a blessing from this article…in some form or another.

My prayer for us all this week, is that we’ll all get in touch with our hearts and minds and see where we stand on certain issues. We know there’s a right and wrong, yes and no, but there’s no “maybe” with God. Amen!

GOD is Good! GOD is Great!! Always!!!

I love you,

Margaret

Are YOU A Softy?

Monday, July 29, 2019

Hello my dear Friends,

It’s Monday Blog time and I’m just darn glad to be here!! I love my Life and I’m so grateful God gave me one. I’m blessed with a sense of happiness and a soft heart! Yep, I’m a softy, alright! So let’s check out a few thoughts from Merriam-Webster about the traits of a “soft-y”:

SOFT; noun:  ENGAGING, KIND, UNASSUMING, LOW-KEY (to name just a few)…

OK now, let’s see what Proverbs 15 says about happy and soft hearts:

1.  A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

2. The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.

3. A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.

4. The discerning heart seeks knowledge, but the mouth of a fool feeds on folly.

5. A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict, but the one who is patient calms a quarrel.

6. A person finds joy in giving an apt reply-and how good is a timely word!

7. The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.

8. Light in a  messenger’s eyes brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones.

9. Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the Lord and humility comes before honor.

You know, if we all were to put these into practice on a daily basis, I believe we could surely change the world!

All of us need encouragement from time to time and we never know when we might have the opportunity to don our “Softy Hat” and perform an act of kindness. Shoot, I could write a book about the kindness I’ve received in my lifetime…so wonderful, and there’s no better feeling than the gift of kindness, whether you’re the giver or the receiver.

This week, my prayer for us all is that we will walk with a sense of care, concern and kindness in all we do, and that we’ll be conscious of those around us and how we might offer even one word or gesture of kindness. Remember that having a soft heart in a cruel world is courage, not weakness. Amen!

Thank you for visiting with me here today and I hope this week is a Blessing for you.

GOD is Good! GOD is Great!! Always!!!

I love you,

Margaret

Monday, July 16, 2018

Welcome, Everyone!!

Happy Monday and thank you for sharing some time with me today! If you ever feel like leaving a comment or two, please do so and I’ll be grateful.

So I woke up today excited about my blog and as soon as I sat down at my desk, I ran across the image above and instantly I knew I was to share some “grandma moments” with you all today.

When I had my first child I thought, “Thank you, God, how incredible!” Then, a few years later I had my second child and felt even more grateful and ask God what had I ever done to deserve these two precious gifts he had bestowed upon me! The love a parent has for a child is indescribable…if you’re a parent, you know what I mean.

As my gift of Life continued to unfold, my two precious gifts gave me…

Following Two Little Girls—From the Playground to the Couch

Author Margaret McBride

The story of my book, “That Melvin Bray”, is written from the memories of an adult Maggie as she  relives her past with Lizzy, her best friend of nearly forty years, aka, Dr. Lizabeth Benis, a successful psychiatrist in Boston. As Maggie recants their shared childhood memories, she will also wonder off into her own private thoughts, to you, the reader, allowing an even closer look into her troubled soul.

These two met at the ripe old age of six on the wonderful playground they would share for many years. They were as different as night and day—opposites, however, that was the bonding glue which held them together.

Maggie was six months younger than Lizzy and very attached to her Mother. Lizzy, on the other hand, was more than six months older than Lizzy, in her own mind, that is, and was not very emotionally attached to her Mother, nor anyone else for…

GOD BLESS AMERICA

Monday, May 27, 2019

Welcome to my Monday Blog, my dear Friends. Today is a very special day – It’s Memorial Day and the one specific day in America that we stop to thank all those who are presently serving in our military and especially to thank, honor and remember our fallen military heros!

What is the military, anyway? The United States of America is made up of five armed service branches which consist of: Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Coast Gurad. The United States operates in over 100 countries, including the U.K., Germany, Italy, Bahrain, Brazil, South Korea, Australia, Afghanistan, Iraq and Japan, just to name a few.

The President of the United States is the Commander in Chief, who is responsibile for all final decisions. The Secretary of the Department of Defense (DoD) has control over the military and each branch, except the Coast Gurad, which is under the Department of Homeland Security. With over 2 million civilian and military empoyees, the DoD is the worlds’ largest “company”.

As long as our America the Beautiful stands, WE, her citizens must be devoted and diligent to her sovernity. Without this, we cannot be the Greatest Country on Earth – Have you read our incredible Bill of Rights, lately? This is what today, MEMORIAL DAY is all about, becasue this is what our soldiers lay down their lives for every day, as they fight to protect these Rights for us, the American citizens.

Our Military and especiallly our fallen heros and protectors, are WHO we honor today.

  1. Freedom of Religion, Speech, and the Press
  2. The Right to Bear Arms
  3. The Housing of Soldiers
  4. Protection from Unreasonable Searches and Seizures
  5. Protections of Rights to Life, Liberty and Property
  6. Rights of Accused Persons in Criminal Cases
  7. Rights in Civil Cases
  8. Excessive Bail, Fines, and Punishnments Forbidden
  9. Other Rights Kept by the People
  10. Undelegated Powers Kept by the States and the People

Make no mistake about it, nor take these rights for granted, because  we wouldn’t have them were it not for our fallen heros and those heros who continue to fight our battles for us. They go into harms way and some never return. Oh, the horror and pain of it all that they face for us.

Today, may we all get down on our knees and pay homage to our fallen heros and their families. They have paid the utimate price for our freedoms. May we humble ourselves on this Memorial Day as we remember and honor all of them, their families and their unthinkable sacrifices they make for the rest of us. May our gracious God in heaven have mercy on them all.

My prayer for us all this week is that in the coming days and beyond, when we’re in the presence of an AMERICAN SOLDIER, let’s take one minute, walk over and THANK that American Soldier for their service and sacrifices for the rest of us. Don’t think twice about it, don’t hesitate, just do it! You could think about this, though – what if you were that soldier?

GOD is Good! GOD is Great!! Always!!!

I love you,

Margaret

How’s Your Faith?

Monday, May 20, 2019

Happy Monday, my Friends and let’s make this new week a great one! First, as always, Thank You for being here and sharing your time with me each week, plus, I do appreciate your comments and questions. No matter whether you agree with me all the time, half the time or none of the time, it’s indeed my pleasure to reach you here on my Blog each week and I’m  open to discussing whatever may be on your heart. I promise I’ll always respond to you in return.

It’s hard to believe that I’m in my sixth year now, blogging on this website; however, it seems like only yesterday I was fretting about the possibility of not having enough to write about – But oh my, how silly, right?!  I’m truly blessed, dear hearts and the good thing about that is that I know it! I love that quote, “Count Your Blessings” and actually I need to spend more time doing just that!

As I continue to blog each week, not only am I growing but so is my audience – That means YOU! Hey, more blessings, right?! So, I ask you to continue to join me here on my Blog each week, knowing that YOU are very important to me!!

Well, if having a faithful heart and the willingness to devote the time, energy and nurturing to the “plan” (whatever it is that makes us tick), then the only way we won’t succeed is if God has a different plan for us. Believe me, whatever direction we choose, and remain open to God’s intervention, He’ll set us straight and in the right direction! Now this will require FAITH, because, having to change courses in mid-stream is often unappealing, causing us to question ourselves and even God. So, how’s your Faith…In God’s Word?

One Monday Blog day, I’m going to sit down here at my desk and blog on “The Many Roads I’ve Traveled”. Now you might think that rings of a sad story, possibly; however, you would surely be incorrect-a-mundo! Gosh, I’ve traveled so many questionable/wrong roads, that it would make a faint-hearted individual…FAINT!!  But, here I am, in this very moment, sharing with you how we all can be something of value, not to just ourselves, but to many others. We never know when we’ll be in the right place at the right time to BE A BLESSING to someone or RECEIVE A BLESSING from someone. God knows this and when He wants to use us, He may choose to turn our lives upside down, to set us on His righteous path…not ours, His!

What’s the big deal? I’ll tell you in two words: OUR FAITH

“And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”  – Mark 11:22-24

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”  – Ephesians 2:8-9

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” – 2 Corinthians 5-7

“That your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.” – 1 Corinthians 2:5

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” – Isaiah 41:10

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

My prayer for us all this week, is that we’ll truly “walk by faith, not by sight”  and share our faith in all we do. Ya know, we don’t have to climb a mountain to share our faith, all we need to do is embrace our faith, open our hearts and simply use our words when God opens a door for us. This is faith in God’s Word.

GOD is good! GOD is Great!! Always!!!

I love you,

Margaret
