“Take Your Soul by the Hand”

Monday, February 23, 2015

Monday BLOG time, Everyone, and I hope you all had a weekend filled with special gifts of joy, fellowship and love.

My heart is heavy today as our world is changing so quickly, that it hardly resembles anything we recognize anymore. A curse of hatred for mankind abounds, as is being demonstrated with the malicious satisfaction  being taken in unthinkable acts of horror across the lands. What is happening to us? It’s abominable and it may not end anytime soon—if ever. The sad truth is that we’re in a hell of a mess, and we need help—probably the supernatural kind that’s going to require some serious praying. In my humanness, Prayer is my answer to everything!

GOD has given us all our own free will, and many have taken that awesome right and continue to abuse it with a disturbing smug glee, to destroy with a sick vengeance, anyone they don’t like. Period. It’s apparent that Satan is working overtime.

I’m certain I’m not alone in this, as I conjure up the horrific visions of recent atrocities as I write this; however, the purpose of my words here today is NOT to spread doom and gloom—NO, quite the opposite. I share my heartfelt feelings with you in order to ask you to PRAY, and to continue to PRAY for our country and our friends…all over the world. PRAYER is a mighty powerful weapon if one knows how to use it and will use it. Amen.

“Take Your Soul by the Hand”

I once had a dream—it was wonderful!!! I could do anything I please; I could fly above the rooftops on the whisper of a breeze. I knew just what I wanted, What I needed to be whole, I had no fear of failure, For I knew it in my soul. But then things changed, for as I grew My life was filled with learning—With books and school and rule—and yet—My heart was filled with yearning. I searched to find the answers, I searched to find my goal, Till finally it dawned on me—I was searching for my Soul. We have a dream inside ourselves, A gift to us at birth, To guide us and protect us On our journey on this earth. We all have something special, Each one of us’ unique, You have to find the courage, To find the peace you seek. So dream your dream and live your dream, Don’t be afraid to try, Just take your soul by the hand And let your Spirit fly.

—Maureen Weiner

This poem is a perfect example of what our precious freedom allows us to do while we’re here and I pray we will hold onto that incredible gift !!

May we all be blessed with the gift of prayer this week and delight in knowing that praying is precisely what is expected of us when we’re in trouble—no matter what the situation!

GOD is Good! GOD is Great!!

I love you all,

Margaret

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.  —Romans 12:21

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.  —Colossians 4:2

But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. —Matthew 6:6

Hallelujah!!

Let’s Talk About LOVE!!

Happy Monday, to all my Blog-Buddies!!

How was your Valentine’s Day? My Valentine and I spent a quiet evening at home. We had our two grandchildren over the night before and all day Saturday, so a quiet evening at home sounded just lovely!!

We dropped the children off at their house late Saturday afternoon and returned home, where I began my preparations for a perfect evening:

I pre-set the formal dining room table, complete with flowers and candles.  Next, I began what was to be a five-star restaurant meal, choosing a perfect bottle of wine to compliment the meal and the evening. I commenced to spend the next three hours sweating over that hot stove, whipping up crazy-good recipes suitable for a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner with my husband…while he relaxed in his oh-so-comphy man-chair by the warm fire in the den—NOT.

I confess, that’s not what happened…not even close!! Truth is, we were too pooped to do much of anything except pull out left-overs from the night before. We did open a bottle of Pinot Noir, dim the lights and sat by the fire as we enjoyed our twice-heated left-over roast. We reminisced about our past Valentine’s days together and delighted in the sweet love we have for each other and how it continues to grow year after year, after year, after year. We were in the process of creating yet another beautiful Valentine’s Day memory—together. Life can be so sweet…with or without a box of chocolates!

In further observance of Valentine’s Day, I found some very interesting Valentine quotes to share with you all today…

Nothing is mysterious, no human relation, except Love.” —Susan Sontag

Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind.” —Shakespeare

“Love, a temporary insanity curable by marriage.” —Ambrose Bierce

Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get—only with what you are expecting to give—which is everything.” —Katharine Hepburn

“What is hell? I maintain that it is the suffering of being unable to love.”               — Fyodor Dostoyevsky

“Love does not begin and end the way we seem to think it does. Love is a battle, love is a war, love is a growing up.”James Baldwin

“What is love but acceptance of the other, whatever he is.” —Anais Nin

“Love is like a fever which comes and goes quite independently of the will…there are no age limits for love.”—Stendahl

“It is a curious thought, but it is only when you see peole looking ridiculous that you realize just how much you love them.”—Agatha Christie

And, my favorite of all by C. S. Lewis, who was a very wise man, in:

The Four Loves

“There is no safe investment. To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket—safe, dark, motionless, airless—it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. The alternative to tragedy, or at least to the risk of tragedy, is damnation. The only place outside Heaven where you can be perfectly safe from all the dangers and perturbations of Love is Hell.”

That interpretation of Love is so utterly profound. In fact, it’s almost scary! As for me, I choose to love and be loved. And, if GOD hadn’t loved us all so much where would we be right now?! That’s really scary!!

We’re here to Love, not hate; heal, not harm; create, not destroy.

I suggest we all LOVE like there’s no tomorrow!! And let us lovers of GOD walk together, stay together, pray together and be together, whenever we can. Life’s about laughing and living; replacing hate with love; forgiving one another; getting through whatever comes our way, then looking back and smiling…realizing we have so much to be thankful for—truly.

This week my prayer for us ALL is that we will consider celebrating every day as if it were Valentine’s Day by keeping Love alive in our hearts—always.

GOD is Good! GOD is Great!!

I love you,

Margaret

PS Let’s talk about LOVE!!

Who Could Love Me?

Monday, February 9, 2015

Welcome Blog-Babies!! How was your weekend? I hope there was much Love, Laughter and Joy for everyone!! Thankfully, mine was filled to the brim with all that and, sadly, some housework. YUK!!

As distasteful and mundane as housework is to me, I’m mentally able to slip away to Neverland and it makes the whole process doable. Gosh, sometimes when I get back to reality, I discover I’m all done! ‘Course I may have missed a few spots here and there, or maybe I even unknowingly locked Miss Emma, the kitty, in the hall closet, but all in all, I can live with it—till next week. I’m so good.

**************

Have you ever ask yourself “who could love me”?

I have. Actually, over the years, I’ve asked myself that quite a few times. I’m not proud of it and I know  very well, GOD doesn’t appreciate me feeling that way about myself…I mean, if He loves me, what can’t I love me? So, here’s some of my thoughts and heartfelt feelings on Self-Love…

What’s love got to do with it anyway?  Everything!!

If you don’t love and respect yourself, you need to make some changes and soon! Actually, that should read:  NOW!!

If you want to attract and invite loving and forgiving people to your Life, then you must first love and respect yourself. It’s vital!!

Stop with the self-loathing and doubt. Are you really that bad?—It’s all in your head, probably, anyway.

On the other side of that is—Stop trying to be perfect—No one else is.

Don’t compare yourself to others —It never works out.

Just be you—There’s no one like YOU—That’s a GOOD thing.

Get past the material stuff—The one with the most stuff is often the most miserable—Seriously.

Relax, play and take one day at a time—PRAY and never stop.

**********

As for me, I no longer pretend I’m someone else—that never works out either—who’s better to be me than ME, anyway? There’s no one like me—I’m an original. I finally learned to love myself and it’s a gooood thing. I’m waaaay far from perfect which puts me in the same category with everyone else on Earth. I’m not monetarily rich, but I have plenty of what I need, mostly what I want, and am delighted with the “stuff” I have—it’s quite enough. I focus on my positives, take one day at a time and PRAY—ALL the time.

All these changes to make one’s self better in order to become more loveable by others, are certainly part of what makes one’s Life better and truly worth living; however, the greatest change of all is the miraculous change that GOD makes in our lives when we choose Him—It’s the best change—EVER!!

My prayer for you ALL this week is that you will discover some wonderful part inside you, that you didn’t even know was there—Look for it, love it, nurture it.  You are LOVABLE!!

GOD is Good! GOD is Great!!

I love you,

Margaret

GOD is about to take you where you could not go alone. Are you ready? Pray until your situation changes. Miracles happen every day, so never stop believing. GOD can change things very quickly in your Life!

God’s Will

Monday, February 2, 2015

Welcome to my Monday Blog!!

Did any of you see the Super Bowl last night?

Personally, I love football and I’m married to a real, true-blue, bona fide “football nut”…seriously!! The problem is, that if his team loses, look out—Katy bar the door!! I  have to leave him alone for the next day or so, until he gets over it. Hey, I know what you’re thinking…”good grief, grow up!!” Yep, that’s what I say to him, too—all the time. I just don’t talk football to him, that’s all…he’s like Peter Pan—never grew up. HAHA.

We’re big New England Patriot fans too, so last night was simply an awesome game, to say the least. The Patriot’s and Seattle Seahawks. In addition to the Patriot’s incredible nail-biting win, perfected by the interception by #21, the twenty-four year old Malcomb Butler, a rookie and third-string Defensive Back, we viewers were also gifted by what this young man said about what he was thinking when he realized he had intercepted the ball, sealing the Super Bowl win for his QB, Tom Brady, and the rest of his team mates.

When interviewed on-camera immediately after the game, he was asked what was running through his mind right before he intercepted the ball. Crying, wiping his eyes and trying to smile, his answer was something like this: “I had a vision that I was going to do something big, make a big play.” Later in another interview he professed: “I believe in God, I pray all the time and I’m truly blessed.” In a very short period of time, this young man went from the counter at Popeye’s to the Patriots & the NFL—Success story? I’m certain!

As most of you know, I’m  a big believer in GOD also. I also believe in miracles, angels and smiles. It gives me great pleasure to share this young man’s success story with you today. What really touches my heart about him though, is his willingness to share his love and gratitude for GOD with the world, as he did last night on national television. He didn’t keep his relationship with GOD a secret. Let’s all keep Malcomb in our prayers. Hallelujah!!

What is God’s Will?

“You’re here to be light, bringing out the GOD-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept.” —Matthew 5:14

Where God’s will is concerned, I believe we ALL have an awesome light inside us and that we’re told so in this scripture above. GOD wants us to let our light shine! We can do this in several ways. My favorite is a kind, loving SMILE. How hard is that? A simple smile can actually save someone’s Life.  It’s true.

There are simple acts of kindness we can offer and perform every day of our lives—being a light, bringing out the GOD-colors in the world.

Remember that little song, “This Little Light of Mine, I’m gonna let it shine…?” I equate this lyric to the scripture above. We all have a beautiful, bright light inside us—an awesome gift from GOD. We need to thank Him for it and obey Him, by using it, as He tells us to. Amen!

We all exist to make a big deal about GOD. It’s not about me, it’s not about you, it’s about Him. GOD should always be first. We are to trust Him and obey Him.

Have a great week, do something that makes you proud to be alive, and be sure to let your light SHINE!!

GOD is Good. GOD is Great!!I

I love you,

Margaret

“Be beautiful in your heart.” —1 Peter 3:4
