THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

MEMORIAL DAY

Monday, May 29, 2017

We are blessed in this country like no other and today, we honor all our fallen Military Angels. There is simply no fitting way to show our gratitude to these dear slain Heroes, nor repay the unthinkable price they have paid for our freedoms in our beloved Country.

What we can do, however, is to never forget and to be diligently grateful about the Gift they have given each one of us.  We can say “Thank You” every day we wake up to a new day on this hallowed American soil, we call Home.

A Soldier’s Prayer:

Dear Lord,

I’m just a soldier

A protector of the land,

A servant called to battle

When my Country takes a stand.

I pray for strength and courage,

For peace and understanding

In a world for all to live.

My family’s prayers are with me,

No matter where I roam.

Please listen when I’m lonely,

And return me safely home.

Amen.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! Rest in Peace.

May God bless the fallen and their families and loved ones…and may God plant a daily reminder in each of our hearts, so that we NEVER, EVER, NEVER forget .

God is Good! God is Great!! Always!!!

I love you,

Margaret

Society Sucks!!

May 22, 2017

Happy Monday, my friends and welcome to my Monday Blog!!

Well, my baby sister visited me this weekend from Florida and what a fun time we had!! You can imagine with only forty-eight hours to pack in the “latest-in-life”, sleep would be a stranger in my house. We started out Saturday afternoon, went non-stop, covering a great deal of miles and memories. Sleep, what’s that?!

She’s a thinker, I’m a talker, we’re both laughers. She has a heart of gold and lives to serve others. I recognize this of course and so our conversations were mostly about how we can live happier lives. She’s a devout Catholic, I’m a big-mouth Baptist. We both love our Savior with all our being, we know where we came from and we know where we’re going. We both agree that as it stands today, society sucks.  Some of the situations going on in this world today are nothing short of insane. No one person can change it either! Each and every one of us must dedicate ourselves to making… first, our own lives better; however, that doesn’t mean by causing harm or injury in any way, to anyone else. After that, we extend ourselves to others in ways we may be of help or service to them. The gift of giving far out-weighs the gift of receiving.

I found this poem recently and it’s so right-on in it’s depiction of what our society has become…

‘Words of Wisdom —e.h

We’ll bully you for smiling,

And then wonder way you frown,

We’ll tell you that you’re worthless,

That you shouldn’t make a sound,

And then cry with all the others,

As you’re buried in the ground,

You can fall in love with anyone,

As long as it’s who we choose,

And we’ll let you have your opinions,

But please shape them to our views,

Welcome to society,

We promise we won’t deceive,

And one more rule now that you’re here,

There’s no way you can leave.”

See? Society can suck, but Life doesn’t have to. Life and what we do with it is up to us…each one of us; however, when it’s all said and done, it’s the how, not how long, we lived our lives. I choose to live my gift of Life in ways which will assure my future with my Savior, Jesus Christ. I’ll live by His rules. Society can and does suck sometimes, but society does not rule.

“For God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16

GOD is the ultimate Ruler. Take What You Need in this Life and live your gift of Life with a loving purpose. Live by The Golden Rule…love yourself, be kind, be playful, smile, laugh, be generous…forgive yourself when necessary and FORGIVE those who trespass against you. Make good, thoughtful rules for yourself. Be a good Friend.

My sister and I decided that most definitely…we rule— YAY us!

After a third cup of coffee, donned in my PJ’s and argyle slippers, at 7:30am, I stood in my driveway, underneath a gigantic ray from the beautiful rising sun, and waved her off on her gloriously safe trip back home to Florida. (I love you, Lynnie-Lu).

God is Good! God is Great!! Always!!!

I love you,

Margaret

The Crack In Our Courage

Monday, May 1, 2017

Welcome to my Monday Blog, my Friends!

Well, I don’t know about YOU, but I’ve been in an emotional fog for months now—one thing after another—you name it, it’s crossed my path. I’m very serious.

Some days I get up and look deep into the mirror searching for my SMILE…not my SOUL, my smile. As I lean closer, I tell myself, “It’s in there, you know it is, don’t you dare walk away from this spot until you see that SMILE in this mirror. Do it!!”

It works, every time. I’m not saying this is easy—It’s not; however, I am saying that sometimes we are all lacking in the courage of our convictions. Stuff happens, we get side-tracked, our faith is challenged, we get too close to the edge, doubt ourselves, doubt God, even…and that’s when we’re the most vulnerable—We’re human…we can feel the crack in our courage and when this happens, satan can hear this crack, as he’s always close by, just waiting for us to show our weakness, our most vulnerable side – Courage, what courage?!  When we lose hope and begin to suffer is when he is the most powerful and dangerous to us.

“Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.”                –  Psalm 31:24

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.” – Ephesians 6:10

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of sound mind.”          – 2 Timothy 1:7

“The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from evil; He will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.”                        – Psalm 121:5-8

*David’s faith in God caused him to look at the giant from a different perspective. Goliath was merely a mortal man defying an all-powerful God. David looked at the battle from God’s point of view. If we look at giant problems and impossible situations from God’s perspective, we realize that God will fight for us and with us. When we put things in proper perspective,  we see more clearly, and we can fight more effectively.*

I need to embrace David’s faith and courage…I talk a good game, most of the time, but sometimes my beautiful gift of Life brings challenges I’d rather just ignore…they may as well be David’s giant and when this happens and after I stop complaining, I usually go to the Lord in prayer and say something like, “Oh, now this too, Lord? Why ME, Lord, what do I need to learn here?”

He talks me off the cliff, He restores my soul, He lifts me up and out of my crisis, He reminds me of my courage, that He is the source of my courage…and what’s so gloriously wonderful about Him, is that he continues to put up with me and forgives me, once again. He is such a good Father…on Earth as He is in Heaven!

If we want to be courageous, we need to be faithful. If our faith is weak we’ll lack the courage we need to stand strong as children of God, when we’re faced with the other side of Heaven…it’s called our gift of Life. This beautiful gift comes with challenges, but nothing compared to the challenges Jesus had to face in order to give us this precious gift.

My prayer for all of us this week, is that we will show our courage—at every opportunity. Be  courageous, be a faithful Child of God and share your joy, your friendship and your hope, with everyone. Amen!

God is Good! God is Great!! Always!!!

I love you,

Margaret
