Happy Monday my Friends and welcome to my Blog!
You know once in a while we’re blessed to come across an old friend, acquaintance or colleague that we’d long since forgotten. Well, maybe not forgotten, but certainly not thought of in a long while. This past week, I had one of those, “reunions”.
I was in Target, one of my favorite stores in the whole wide and believe me when I say, “I know shopping up-close and personal!”
I was busy examining some make-up products and had the feeling someone was watching me. At first I thought I’d just had too much coffee, even though I only drink Decaf, or maybe it was the horror movie I’d watched the night before – either way, very shortly I realized it was not my imagination and I proceeded on over to the make-up counter to sample various new make-up products for about fifteen minutes or so. I took a quick cursory glance in the mirror in front of me on the counter and as my mind was on the “stalker”, I was unaware of how I was mindlessly applying various make-up products and frankly I scared myself when I glanced over into the mirror! Immediately I began removing the extra eyebrow I had applied, then onto the layers of mascara on my eyelashes which had somehow joined my cheeks?! I had tested so many shades of lipsticks that the last application resulted in a deeeeep shade of purple, resembling Morticia. YIKES!!
By the time I had literally scrubbed my face to a bright apple-red, I was asked politely by the floor attendant if I was alright. Lovely lady! As I was franticly cleaning up the pile of Kleenex, lotions, creams, etc., I was certain I had an audience…not a big one, just one or two. Darn!!
I took one more glance in the mirror at the fading Morticia and gathered my personal belongings. I was just about to pull an Elvis when I felt a gentle tap on my shoulder, followed by an “Excuse me, but I believe I know you.” I turned around and saw my stalker…FACE-TO-FACE (ugh!) once more. Oh brother!
Turns out, this was my first true love (I had several) from 9th grade in high school and of course he didn’t even know I was alive back then. I’m still wondering how he could have possibly recognized me – must have been Morticia he recognized. Either way, we chatted for a few minutes and then once again parted ways…for another 50 years, hopefully. Oh, I’d love to be a little hovering, mind-reading Bumble Bee, as I watched him through my blurry irritated eyes until he was out of sight. I can only imagine what he was thinking. Well I say, serves him right! He had over fifty years to notice me, but NO, it had to be today!! Did I say “serves him right?!”
Hers’s what I really think, my friends:
Love yourself, warts and all and believe in yourself because God doesn’t make mistakes! The depth of his Love and Grace is incomprehensible!
“If God is for us, who can be against us?” – Romans 8:31
My prayer for us all this week is that we will all embrace the love of our heavenly Father, thank Him for the miracle of us, and remember no mater what, He loves us, unconditionally! Amen!
LIFE – I LOVE IT!! BELIEVE IN MIRACLES!
GOD is Good! GOD is Great!! Always!!!
I love you,
Margaret
