It Takes Guts!

Monday, June 25, 2018

Welcome to my Monday Blog, everyone! Thank You to all who are back with me today and welcome to all of you who are here for the first time! Those of you who know me, know that I’m not that outspoken on political matters. I bet that most of you have little or no idea of who I voted for in the last presidential election or if I even voted at all…(I did vote), but why should you know?  I’m certainly not here each week to sway anyone’s political positions; however, I am here to share my heart and beliefs about my Savior, Jesus Christ. It’s for that reason alone that I am led to share this opinion below from a fellow-American.

With that said, I admit that I’m well aware of what is going on in our beloved country and that we’re experiencing some of the worst situations our country has ever even imagined. The hate and vitriol throughout our land is at an all time high. Frankly, it’s frightening.

Regardless of who one votes for, there are situations which require we all get on the same page…forget party lines, be Americans, and do the right thing, for one reason only…it’s the right thing to do! The problem we’re facing as a nation today, is that hate for one man is dividing our country in half. It takes guts to do the right thing! What’s it going to be?

The following was written very recently by a “true” American; however, as you read this, you will find that she went through hell to become one:

********

*”This whole immigration thing is insane. I am a political refugee who exiled to the USA as an 8 year old child along with my 4 year old sister. My parents sent us to the USA alone when they couldn’t attain the proper immigration papers needed to enter the USA LEGALLY. They remained behind in Cuba until they were able to enter LEGALLY into the USA and apply for political asylum.

My sister and I were placed in a holding camp the USA had set up for the other children like us who were being airlifted to the USA escaping the brutal and oppressive Castro regime. My father was jailed several times by Castro for political dissent, and his business was confiscated. My parents, sent us to safety and freedom, hoping someday soon they could join us. Fourteen thousand Cuban children from the ages of 3-16 sought refuge in the USA in what eventually was called ‘The Pedro Pan Program’.

We were placed in a foster home several weeks after being vetted in the detention center. Because we had left Cuba with very little personal belongings do to Castro’s strict orders, (No toys, 3 sets of clothes, 1 piece of jewelry) and no money, we were provided all our physical needs. We were fed, schooled, clothed, and given shelter in an abandoned military base. We all ate together in the cafeteria, and were assigned to barracks. School rooms were set up.

I was 8 years old, too young to really understand what and why this was happening to us. My parents made me promise I wouldn’t cry so that my little sister would not be scared, so all my fears and sadness were suppressed. It was a trauma I cannot explain to anyone who has not lived through it. However, I can now completely understand the reasons my parents made this tremendous sacrifice, and I still clearly recall my parents faces watching our luggage being ransacked by the armed Cuban soldiers, and the look of sadness knowing they might never see their precious little daughters again.

Thankfully, my parents were able to escape Cuba a year later, and we were reunited with them s couple of weeks after they arrived. They got out of Cuba just in time before the diplomatic relations between the USA and Cuba were suspended due to the October Missile Crisis. We were one of the fortunate families who were able to reunite. Many families remained separated for many years, their children having forgotten even how to speak Spanish.

I am appalled by the way the Democrats and the media is portraying what’s happening at our borders. The USA is the most generous, hospitable country in the world. This country has provided so much assistance, shelter and hope to so many in its young existence. ‘The beacon on the hill’ like Reagan so eloquently said.

To see and hear the hatred they use to maligned and discredit President Trump simply because he’s attempting to permanently resolve the mess previous administration have ignored and precipitated, absolutely breaks my heart. I have no words to express the outrage and the sadness I feel watching and hearing them lie, disrespect and show such disdain for this country I love so much.

I love this country and the shelter, opportunity and FREEDOM it provided my family since we were welcomed. Watching the tv images of children being cared for by the overwhelmed border officers and the immigration staff, and the way these anti-American news outlets are using this crisis to advance their anti-Trump hatred campaign is completely out of control. It is frightening. The fact American masses are being manipulated by this constant left-wing indoctrination methods is alarming. Having been subject to brainwashing as a kindergartner in Cuba I recognize the radical tactics. I grew up in a home where political discussion and how precious freedom and opportunity found in the USA is what every person on earth deserves, I am appalled by the recognition of the Marxist ideology this left-wing is aspiring to inject into the USA government.

They are gradually and persistently eroding the strong fiber the USA forefathers so wisely founded this country on.
They use emotional sabotage to achieve their objectives. What’s more heartbreaking then exhibiting outrage over children being separated from their parents? Who wouldn’t feel a tug on their heart if all this were the real and complete facts?

However, they are only telling us the part of the story that promotes and advances their narrative. They fail to tell you these immigration laws have been around for decades. I know. I am a recipient of that those policies. Do I consider myself a victim? NO!!! AND NO!!!

I am infinitely thankful and grateful for the generosity and kindness this country bestowed on us. I could never find the words to express my gratitude and my love for the country which has given the world’s oppressed the HOPE for SELF DETERMINATION. EQUAL OPPORTUNITY. FREEDOM OF SPEECH to even yell obscenities, mock, and besmirch a leader who has done nothing to deserve it except stand up for the country he loves, the people who volunteer to protect it, the flag and national anthem that represent it, and affirm the constitution many of his fellow citizens seem determined to overthrow and eliminate.

God forbid he should strive to defend its sovereignty. God forbid he should put the citizens he was freely elected to represent above all others. God forbid he should insist on respecting the flag that proudly waves its Stars and Stripes. God forbid he has made a commitment to honor life, even the lives of those unborn innocents. God forbid he should stand up proudly for American exceptionalism and the American way of life. God forbid he has made capitalism work again by lowering taxes, giving entrepreneurs new hope to succeed, jobs to the unemployed.

President Trump has been in the public arena for decades. You would think at some point, while a well known celebrity, somebody might have accused him of racism, fascism, naziism, homophobia, etc.etc.etc. But no. His biggest scandals? Divorce. Sad, but hardly uncommon in today’s world. Bankruptcy. And then recovery, success and wealth regained. Pomposity. True, perhaps. Narcissism. True, but what person confident enough to run for the US presidency can claim humility? None, I would argue.

The abject hatred and rhetoric directed at this man is illogical and crosses the line of normal and acceptable social behavior. I fear for his life, his family, and his supporters. The rancor and violent outbursts of complete and utter disdain is palpable. Frankly, I can no longer justify trying to understand the irrationality of the vitriol. It has surpassed my ability to accept and/or understand. All I am capable of at this point is prayer for protection, strength, guidance and favor for Mr. Trump, his family and those of us who support him.

I believe with all my heart that this man was ordained by God to lead us at this critical time in our history. God picks the most imperfect and unworthy to achieve His biggest purpose and His plans. It’s always darkest before the storm, but I firmly believe in the creator who promised a rainbow at the end of the storm.

The storm is raging. We need to stay strong, faithful and prayerful. Many of us will confront strife and violent stormy weather.

But the rock upon which this country was established strong, solid and deep. Those of us who know it are being called to be faithful to speak the message, and courageous enough to stand firmly on the principles that determine and established who we are as individuals and as a nation.

In the Declaration of Independence it clearly and radically affirms that we are to rely on our Creator, and all our rights come inalienably from Him. No power on earth can separate us from Him upon whom our nation has been blessed by throughout the last 250 years.

I pray incessantly for those who mean us harm to cease and desist. I pray for all our representatives to find compromise and peaceful resolution. I pray wisdom for all those who are blinded by the lies to seek the truth. I pray our flag continues to wave proudly and waves over those who volunteer to secure peace, safety and freedom for us to live by.”

God bless the USA!🇺🇸🙏🏽

My prayer for us all this week is that we will be filled with love and compassion for each other, as we are all God’s children. I hope that we will all pray for our President whether we like him or not…none of us are either right or wrong ALL the time. We are ALL just human beings on God’s planet and we need to come together without hate in our hearts if we truly want our country to survive. These are desperate times but we can limit the suffering for many if we will only come together as human beings who care about the big picture: Love for each other and our Country.

“And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you-ask what you can do for your country.” – John F. Kennedy, 35th US President

Why Pray, Anyway?

Monday, June 11, 2018

Happy Monday, Everyone! Thank you for visiting my Blog and I hope you’ll continue to join me here every Monday! I PRAY your weekend was filled with good tidings and Joy…and it’s not even Christmas!! When we have love in our hearts, we also feel Joy and spread and receive good tidings ourselves, don’t we…and all year long, my Friends. Awesome!!

I’m pretty sure I have some interesting news to share with you all today – Frankly, I didn’t know this and just recently read a very interesting article about how physically beneficial the act of praying can be to all of us. We know prayer can change everything. Indeed!

Now I know why I pray and I’m sure you know why you pray; however, today I have some interesting scientific data, regarding even more benefits to us as a result of engaging in the act of prayer. Yes, God always knows what He’s doing for us and He’s always working on our behalf. I believe it just takes us awhile to discover all of His miraculous ways and gifts…and I’m certain we’ll never-ever know it all. We’re just human, He’s God!!

The Scientific Study of The Relationship Between The Brain and Spiritual Phenomena – Dr. Andrew Newberg, founder of “Neurotheology”  –

Strengthen Your Brain Through The Power of Prayer/The Benefits of Prayer: Restore Your Brain and Your Memories.

Not only can prayer be measured as brain activity, but it has been scientifically proven to help the following :

*Improve the Immune System

*Reduce stress and lower your blood pressure

*Build resistance to disease

*Enhance your memory

*Prevent dementia and Alzheimer’s disease

*Reduce your suffering from pain and ultimately give you a healthier, longer and happier life.

Can Prayer do all this? YES, of course, prayer changes everything!

Prayer is all about God. God is in charge of it all – His Earth, His People, His Gifts.

I consider myself a Prayer Warrior, however, I intend to be an even better, more dedicated Prayer Warrior from this new knowledge forward.

This week, my prayer for us all is that we will be mindful of the incredible access we have to all of God’s Gifts…through our faith in Him by engaging in PRAYER WITH HIM – More than ever. Amen!

GOD is Good! GOD is Great!! Always!!!

I love you,

Margaret

WHO Are You?!

Monday, June 4, 2018

Welcome to my Monday Blog, everyone! Thank you for your time and inspiration! It’s important to me that you know how much I value your comments and support. Ya know, my Mondays are extra special. Of course every day is special, however, Mondays bring me added Blessings as this is the one day of the week I have private time to share with both my Savior and you at the same time. It starts my day with a special Joy – Thank you!!

I was chatting with a group of kids over the weekend and observed the immense Joy these little souls express as they think about what they want to be when they grow up. It seems to me that children are exceptionally intuitive at such young ages these days. When I was a youngster, I remember my dear Mother listening to my siblings and me as we would all express with delight, exactly what we were going to be when we grew up. Gosh, we had every occupation covered and we all were most serious about our choices. There was, of course, the usual:  doctor, nurse,  minister, policeman, teacher, veterinarian…you know the occupations we, as children were exposed to in our daily lives way back then…in the stone age.

So, let’s fast forward to the present day and these little ones I was querying this weekend. The career goals were quite unique, even surprising. Let’s see now, there was this one little girl in particular, who had her mind made up and no doubt about it, she was going to be an astronaut for the first 10 years of her career and then, she was going to become a brain surgeon. I asked her why she had chosen these two awesome specific “jobs”  –  she told me that as an astronaut she wanted to find out if global warming was real, and then she wanted to become a brain surgeon so she could operate on any child who had a “sick” brain. She added that, “children should be happy and not have to worry about global warming.” With excitement in my voice, I agreed with her and congratulated her on her fine choices…by the way, she’s almost seven.

I’m just wondering: Can you remember who you were before the world told you who you should be? Who are you right now, this minute? Are you feeling good about yourself, your choices? How about when you look in the mirror? Are you pleased with yourself?

I have this little game I play with myself and before I look in the mirror, I remind myself of two things: be honest and take a good long look. Then as I look into the mirror, I ask myself this question: “Are you happy with yourself?”

This question is about me and only me:

I am not allowed to blame anyone for anything I don’t like about the person I see in the mirror – Why or how something happened or turned out the way it did. I am responsible for me, my choices and my actions – regardless of the outcome. If I do well, I praise myself, thank the good Lord and feel good. If I do not do so well, I pray about it and thank the good Lord for the lesson and ask for His forgiveness and guidance so that I may be a better Christian no matter what “hat” I’m wearing at the time. My goal is that no matter what career I’ve chosen in Life, and at what plateau I’m on, no matter what anyone else tells me I should or should not be or do, I thank them for the input, pray about it and trust my heart, my gut and my Savior. WE have this ONE life – truly a gift – what will we do with it? Amen!

My prayer for us all this week is that we’ll look in the mirror every once in awhile and get our bearings. Ask ourselves if we’re pleased with that image and are we living that image as we believe we should. If we need to make a change, let’s find the courage to do so.

“And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” – Matthew 3:17
