Turkey and Love!!

Monday, November 27, 2017

Greetings, my dear friends and welcome to my Monday Blog!

How was your Thanksgiving?! Well, I don’t know about you guys, but I’m still feeling a little like one of those stuffed Butterball Turkeys…plus, I’m certain I heard myself utter “gobble-gobble” a few times before I left the table. What a real blessing that day was with family, friends, fun, and the foooood!! We were all so blessed and we were and still are most grateful for all our incredible blessings on our most celebrated Family Day!

“Count your many Blessings, Name them one by one.                                                                             Count your many Blessings and See what God has done.” Amen.

Each year after Thanksgiving, I hold onto those  wonderful feelings…the stories, the laughter, the jokes and the pure JOY we all shared, for as long as possible. One of the reasons I’m certain I do that is because it helps me to stay humble and charitable towards others by reminding me of how fortunate I am.  I know that true humility is not thinking less of ourselves, but thinking of ourselves less.  This is a good thing and here are a few other little tidbits of humility for us all to embrace before next Thanksgiving:

*“Pass over the mistakes of others”

*”Be kind and gentle even under provocation”

*”To speak as little as possible of one’s self

*”Avoid the need to always be right”

*”Accept contradictions and correction cheerfully”

*”Avoid curiosity”

*”Never stand on one’s dignity

And last but certainly important to consider…“It is unwise to be too sure of one’s own wisdom. It is heathy to be reminded that the strongest might weaken and the wisest might err.”   – Gandhi

Amen, my friends. Amen!

This week, let’s all remember to count our blessings…ONE BY ONE and, as we get into the glorious Christmas season, let’s also think about what we might do for someone in need, less fortunate than us. How may we be good stewards and express our love in some way? We never know how even the smallest gesture of kindness may help another dear soul in need. We also should keep in mind that it’s possible we, ourselves, may need a helping hand one day; it’s true.  We must remember that Christmas is the season of LOVE and the true reason for the season is all about our Savior, Jesus Christ. As we are celebrating His holy birth, we know that Jesus is all about “FAITH, HOPE and LOVE; these three things will last forever, but the greatest of these is LOVE.”  – 1 Corinthians 13:13

GOD is Good! GOD is Great!! Always!!!

I love you,

*Thank You to Mother Teresa (Saint Teresa), for her pure heart, courage and divine wisdom.
