It’s Good Friday afternoon, April 3, 1953—Easter weekend. I start the story at this time in the life of the main character, Maggie Chillton, aka, Magg Pie, because this will be her first memory of her father under the influence of alcohol. She’s five years old and is home with her Mother and two younger sisters. Maggie’s daddy arrives home from the mill with his buddy Melvin Bray.
