COURAGE – What’s That?

Monday, May 18, 2015

Welcome, it’s Monday Blog time, Everyone!!

Well, I’ve been thinking about COURAGE for sometime now and today is the day I’m going to check in on my level of courage…

The Good Book says: “Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.” – Psalm 31:24

We all know the story of “David & Goliath” – 1 Samuel, 17… it’s this kind of courage that comes from GOD and it’s also this kind of courage we can be comforted with when we have GOD on our side.

“The greatest battle is not physical, but psychological. The demons telling us to give up when we push ourselves to the limit can never be silenced for good. They must always be answered by the quiet, steady dignity that simply refuses to give in. Courage. We all suffer. Keep going.” – Graeme Fife

” When I am afraid, I put my trust in You. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid.”       -Psalm 56:3-4

“The words “in God I trust” are where the statement “In God We Trust” comes from and is printed on American currency. To not be afraid is to put your trust in God and when you have this trust in God, you will think “what can flesh (mankind) do to me?” Trust is the opposite of fear, like peace is to anxiety. Trust and obey God and leave the consequences up to Him.” – Pastor Jack Wellman

************************

There’s not a day, not one, that I don’t pray for more courage….the courage of my convictions, trust and faith in the Lord – just like David, when he stood up to Goliath. That was a pretty tall order, and he slew that giant with one stone! Really?! Yes, really!!

Here’s a very poignant Bible verse that’s an awesome daily reminder of what God has given us to work with here: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.                  – 2 Timothy  1:7  (try it, it helps ME!!)

So let’s ALL go … with GOD and Courage, for the rest of our days here…Hallelujah!!

May God bless you ALL in the miraculous ways only He can, then praise His name!!

I love you,

❤️Margaret

Why is it when we are young we are bold with our courage. Being old now I have to pray for courage and still feel afraid whenever I do whatever that courage will be in my mind and heart to allow me to go throught what I must.
Again you are right on with this subject.
    Thank you for sharing.

I would love to hear your thoughts regarding luck vs. Blessings. I just learn today that luck comes from the devil. I know about blessings, but not sure on this luck business .

    Blessings to you always,
    Marilyn

      Hey there, sweet Marilyn!

I’m with you on this courage thing and how when we were young we didn’t even consider if we had it or not! We were invincible
and Life was forever, back then! Oh, but then we grew up and Life has become invaluable and WE are anything BUT invincible!💥💥

Life can create both courage and fear, and both at the same time, even. That’s why we must have God in our lives if we’re gonna be truly
courageous and walk on His path to live a Life of love and joy.

Fortunately, being the God-Lovers that you and I are, He knows our hearts, our fears and our intentions…He also knows how courageous we desire to be for Him when facing the challenges of our daily lives-
so, we’ve got that going for us! It’s hard not to doubt ourselves sometimes though, and to be concerned if we’re making the right choice or not…being courageous is a full-time job as we meet each new day, and doubting ourselves is just part of it, sometimes. We can doubt ourselves, but not God – that’s what we cling to – Him.

I know I’m “preaching to the choir” here with you, so looks like we’re just reinforcing each other…that’s a good thing!

For next week, I’ll post my thoughts on “Luck & Blessings” …just for you, dearest Friend.

Love and sweet thoughts to you and your loved ones,
      Margaret❤️

    Margaret,

It has been said that “every shadow no matter how deep is threatened by morning light”…to me…Courage is possible with the “belief in” AND the “certainty of hope”…

As sure as there is darkness, dark times and despair…there is an antithesis… belief, light and hope…

I do believe these can be the the catalyst for courage!!

    Darkness, Despair
    Belief
    Light, Hope
    Courage

    K.K.
